Deep inside

Deep inside

A Poem by Canicus

sometimes I sit and think
about every little thing
is there a pattern, some kind of link
why are we here, why do we sing
I wish i could stop
Thinking only eats me away
skip the brain and to the heart we hop
why can I not seem to keep this darkness at bay
is this world for myself
or do I belong here at all
keep it going or put my life upon the shelf
am I myself or just another little doll
keep me away
or let me stay

I like the ambiguity in this piece, there is longing and wonder and joy and pain. Beautifully penned!

For your first write in a while I thought it was amazing, I loved the ending about being a doll on a shelf. Excellent work.
