What have I done..

words have come into being

spoken from the mouth of my mind

animating the very horror I want to try and hide

                       this is no game

                      I am no demigod

art is a reflection of within

the darkness that has built upon the walls of my heart

peels like paint

coming off in layers as I strip myself of its allure

its comforting way

the death of me is accepting it

to give in is to die

to let go of the pain is life

Romans 10:9-11
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Wicked. Really awesome poem with the metaphors and similies of the wall of your heart peeling like paint. The whole thing reminded me of this character from this show called Heroes I think. There was this character that was an artist that was basically an oracle. Everything he saw though basically, was death and torture. The true ugliness in life. Anyways your poem reminded me of him. It was as if you painted his soul perfectly with words. Also, what Emily Burns with explanation of art is never being pretty. To be honest the truth is never really pretty and most of the best artwork comes from a tortured soul or based off a tortured world. Sad really.

We all fight without realizing that darkness is apart of us. The day we forgive and accept ourselves is the day that the darkness will meet light. J'adore! -Ian

"to give in is to die
to let go of the pain is life"

What an inspiration.... : )

I love the sentiment behind this, it's clever capture of imagery is both inspiring and swathed in the subtle blues of melancholic reverie. This portion in particular stood out to me:

"art is a reflection of within
the darkness that has built upon the walls of my heart
peels like paint
coming off in layers as I strip myself of its allure"

You have a very unique method of converging the desires or lamentations of the soul with the vibrancy of humble realism, and I am truly enamored by it. Very well done, I loved it.
