masquerade my life away

masquerade my life away

A Poem by joshua deathdealer

"
We both knew that we never really had much of a future together.

Yet still we held onto a dead love,  for all that we were worth.
Clinging onto innocence that blossoms between comfort and obsession.

And the moments spent underneath the stars swirling above.
Images of who we once were drove futile attempts over and over.
We fought until our hands bled and our minds hemorrhaged around the
fact that seemingly we were not meant to be what we thought we were.

I will return to my burlesque.
My masquerade with reality.
Where will you hide?

I like this very much! A very intelligent piece.
Reality may not be the perfect dwelling place for the heart;
but it is for the mind, I believe. The fact that you have fought
for the love until you bled is best rather live in a mindset
of "what if(s)".

...and the photo is an exquisite choice!!!!

When a love dies you can only pretend so long before you are emotionally flat lined.

It can be so hard to accept the truth, even when it shows itself over and over.
In the end, maybe it shouldn't have to be so much work.

"Clinging onto innocence that blossoms between comfort and obsession."
What a fine line this is (and a "fine line," as well :).

Thank you.

I can tell that every line of this was carefully chosen and spaced...
