"187"
He spoke nervously into his two way
as he walked up to the lifeless body
that lay twisted on the dirt road.
The gore that surrounded her was
illuminated by his vehicle's headlights.

Looking, he could see that her
throat appeared to have been
ripped out or cut. Blood still
gushed out the fatal wound,
flowing in the dusty tire tracks.

"187"
"I repeat. I gotta 187, white female
out here on old wire road. It's
pretty bad. Requesting backup.." the
young policeman says as he turns back
towards his patrol car. Three feet in
front of him stood a person.

A man. His clothes were torn and
he was not seemingly shaken by the
extreme cold. Unshaven and disheveled.
Blood covered mouth.  "Oh my God" was
all the rookie managed to say while trying
to raise his gun.

As he attempts to train his sights, he is
slammed to the ground. Knocking out his breath.
Flailing around, his arms are pushed back by
the savage man. He feels the killers teeth sinking
into his throbbing throat. Pain explodes and
claustrophobia. Causing him to pass out.

Awaking, he realizes the psychopath is
gulping the red, bubbling flow that pours
from his neck. Struggling in panic, he pushes
back at the assailant. The attacker screeches.
Grabs the lawman's head and smashes it repeatedly on
the lime rock. After licking at the stickiness on his
fingers the deranged man stands up and walks off
into the trees.

I took a different approach to this one. Put more of a story tale style into this fifth installment of the series. Less emotional and more gore. lol

Wow, this was purely dark and terrorizing. This simple man is calling out for help but instead gets taken down by the killer as well with no hope of his whereabouts being found. In a way, its really sad but in another matter, the description was clarifying what you wanted to point out.

Not only your author's note says it but the poem does too... lots of gore, sort of grotesque. Right from the beginning I love how you have written this.
"The gore that surrounded her was

This is a awesome write, i love it, all of the gore and dark details, and how different you wrote it as a scene like a story... really well written. Love this !

I like this poem. A complete tale in so few words. Remind people to check out their area for unknown attack. I like the complete story and the very good ending in this poem. A outstanding poem.
