The green brute stood on the side of the road as a large group of elves passed him by they paid no attention to him, not even a momentarily sideways glance
He began to wonder why the gods had chosen this monstrous fate for him why couldn't he walk with elegance or even go inside the villages
His kind was loathed by everyone hated and feared by even the lowest of criminals, saddened he watched the faction stride on
Alone the goblin turned back into the great woods where he hid from the hunting parties sent to kill what they didn't understand
There he would find solace and peace amongst the ancient trees with the woodland creatures that knew no hate for this mutant
Besides this wasn't just any goblin he wasn't hell bent on chaos he lived in a humble hut deep within the thicket and enjoyed the small things
Although created by wizards to wage
their long and destructive wars
and yes maybe he is an abnormality but yet he breathes the same air
Written for the Competition-of-Skilled-Poets...This has also inspired to do a collection of fantasy poems as well...Besides horror it is my favorite genre..xx

I can definitely see you expanding this further. Creating an entire story around his desire to be recognized for what he is, and the strides and pitfalls he would endure along the way. By itself though, it's a description of a character that is relatable to, even though I can safely assume most of us aren't actual goblins :P Nice write.
I have felt this way for most of my life. I am the peaceful goblin and I have long wondered on my fate. It describes my feelings so well, but better yet, it is a simple and short poem that tells such a great story. Simple and meaningful.
I had to think about this one. It's pretty stereotypical, which turned me away, but I thought about it and thought about it, I realize, the true meaning. I have to say the last stanza was the best. The one above that is what separates it and makes the meaning quite bolder and sharper. There is a sword between character and appearance. He had the personality of an elf, perhaps even better seeing as they can be snobby, but the appearance of a goblin. Interesting.
