the hunt

A Chapter by joshua deathdealer
"

08/2011 (Blood type B: Installment Four)

"
The sun slips underneath the horizon
leaving behind a fading ghastly glow
taking with it all hope for the innocents

Slowly the pale moon rises over this city
lighting the nearly empty streets
setting the stage for the bloodshed

Crazed and whipped up into a frenzy
I emerge my abode, feeling the cool
night air caress my spectral skin

Immediately my heightened senses
pick up on a live one, walking down
darkened roads leading nowhere

I walk up behind the girl, unsuspecting
she turns and gasp, seeing the
intent in my blood shot eyes

Pulling a gun she fires pointblank
at my chest, the bullet tearing
through me brings false hope

I can't die, I'm unable to release my
cursed soul from out of this haggard
carcass, her blood runs down my throat

I think that this is one of the better vampire poems that I have read in a long time. I like how it moves so seamlessly and how the description isn't encumbering. I like how you use the phrase false hope in the sixth stanza it leaves the reader wondering whether the vampire was killed and the false hope was his or whether it was the girl's. This was really good keep at it.

I like the poem. the way it's held together in intensity, but the surge in vampire poems is too many to mention...but this is one of the better one's I've read Josh.

demented. love it. But I wonder why an unsuspecting girl would be carrying a gun on her. Just a thought that popped into my head.

This words of this poem have an Anime feel to it which is cool since I like Anime. I didn't notice until I just strolled up that the picture is Anime too!
