A Chapter by joshua deathdealer
"

08/2011 (Blood type B: Installment Two)

"
I have tasted the fairy tales, drained
from unaccommodating occupants
as shots ring out in the night air
bodies drop to quench our thirst

I have watched their befuddled demons
echo, mirrored on their dying faces
reaching out and weighing me down
desperate to pull me into their early hell

It's just the same old story, over and over again
days turn into years, tears dry into fears
my vile hands drag across this ageless photograph
that vaguely reminds me of a life hopelessly lost
bartered away for vanity and immortality

there is nothing new underneath the sun
even the wonder and excitement of life
that pushes your feet seemingly forward
toward the only thing that is truly certain

graves are full of the hopeful

that last line just grabbed me by the throat and pummeled me into the ground. "the graves are full of the hopeful" wow that really pulled the whole thing together for me..it was like the pyrotechnics at the end of a show! just BOOM! this was such a wonderful write. I love how dark and honest this is. I also love the first line too. Just referring to something so innocent and saying that you've heard them all makes it sound like you're growing up now and you see the world for what it really is :) I can really relate to that. Great job again and thanks for posting!

The last line caught my attention because with each stanza you bring up the suspense, this dark semblance with a unique taste to it. The bodies who reach up to drag more into their devastating despair. Its almost sick and normal at the same time.

Wow....This is beautiful. Carries a heavy burden and deep desire for what could have been or what was. I like this very much. I have to say, I always love your poems. Great job!

This was eerily beautiful. When I read this poem I could imagine everything you were describing; graves, demons, tears, blood and Hell.
Great poem (:
