the day is new

A Poem by joshua deathdealer

"
Awakening consciousness grows as the weight
of my despondency clears the air.

Demons retreat under a glowing light,
...my weakness in this war troubles me.

I'm unable to pull myself to confidence
                           from despairs teary smear.

You must reach for me when they return.
Making known all signs of adversity.
I will remove all infertility from my actions
                          and be prudent of derangement.
We must communicate all issues with compliance.

                                                       My heart is yours.

               Zeal overwhelms my senses.

My skin aches for your touch.

Take my hand and know that my love is pure.
My spirit is healed, my aspirations are lifted.
My longings met and my demeanor intact.

I have dreams of forever walking by your side.

The day is new and our Father is waiting
for us to take and it and make it ours.

Psalms 37:12-18
12: The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
13: The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
14: The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow,
to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
15: Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.
16: A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17: For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.
18:The LORD knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be forever.

I like the hopeful ending. One thing as a writer I always try to challenge myself to do is to break the surface of the emotions or actions I'm trying to portray. To do that you have to show and not tell. You say in your poem, " My aspirations lifted, my longings met, my demeanor intact." But what images and descriptions can you give the reader to show that rather then just telling them?

The ending was good. I like The bible verses as well. The interpretation of them is well written.

Your imagination is powerful! :) You take poignancy and cast a spell over it in surreal but hard hitting threads!
Brilliant love
