The GraftingA Poem by joshua deathdealer10/29/1017
There is a tree that overshadows innocence
An ancient one that grows over the eyes Of all those that truly seek It's constricting roots, entangle in the throats Of those desperately trying to speak Like an alluring web, it spreads out grim wings To distort everything There is a tree that bears death It's flowers bloom overhead in pulsating waves Of color that hypnotizes the meek While it empowers itself by grafting us to it's reach Inside it crawls the thought patterns of the weak Planting seeds within to multiply without The stars become bleak With lips blackened I have tasted its fruits of deceit With memories fabled Let me sleep © 2021 joshua deathdealerAuthor's Note
