a perfect day

a perfect day

A Poem by joshua deathdealer
"

03/2014

"

I’ve been standing

quietly within the

shades of my shame

Watching the seasons

show their faces through

dirty window panes

Lights flicker with

every portal opened

and these walls bulge

with the dead waiting

impatiently for me to fold

All I can really see

is you twirling

in front of me

Your smile frozen

in familiar flashes

Repainting a perfect day

You open your arms

and I reach for you

but nothing’s there

I fall

The walls explode

I don't know why this made me even more emotional. It's very poignant. I feel like my heart, too, will explode. Probably I'm overthinking right now and I can't erase the bad memories of yesterday. Definitely not death but loss. I love the imagery. The dark sentiments of this poem struck me the most. It was like reminiscing things that should have been forgotten long ago, something that pulls my soul and my thoughts.

This was the bomb. Made my chest clench. And still, Joshua, you write so well. Your poems are fascinating. Simple. Straight-forward. Yet splendid. I missed reading your writings. Keep 'em coming. I'll try to stay tuned. This was an excellent piece. I'll put it on my library!

Another touch with it, and almost you got there... you can describe "real love" in so few... to understand this, it takes a special mind, my friend. You have such a mind. Intense, and captivating.
