July burns

July burns

A Poem by joshua deathdealer

"
If I could put this off any longer
I probably would
but my heart won't let me
anymore

I don't quite know how to
form what I feel into words
but I have to try

For the most beautiful little girl
in the whole world

For my beloved Anya

When I look at your pictures
I am overwhelmed with emotions
I can't even describe

So far away

The farther it becomes
the harder it is to breath
the more July burns

Every night I reach out to you
willing the love
I am unable to hold inside

Hoping that it touches you
that it pushes your golden hair
from your quiescent face
and kisses your forehead

That it prays over you
and spills the tears
of joy
that I would
if I were there

So beautifully written, such powerful emotions expressed. You talk about how you cannot describe how you feel, but in these lines, you say it all so perfectly. When a writer becomes silenced, you know he feels true and pure love beyond comprehension.

Very beautiful, so powerful, deeply emotional.
I loved this Josh. It made me think of someone. Maybe in a different context than was meant but it's stirred me. For me, it's December that burns... :(

Your command of cadence is as effective as ever. Good title choice, I like the short stanzas. Well done.

Awe, this poem had so much love in it that it makes me sad. I loved the feel of emotions in it. I know you don't see her often, but remember she will always love you. She is your little girl. She knows you can't always be there, but she wishes you can. Plus she has a great father. I loved the poem in general! Thanks for sharing older brother.

Anything for you, brother. I love you!
This is so sweet my dear, and beautiful.... Your love for her is strong, unconditionally, and this shed me to tears, we know why... Through the years, there is a heart, of warmth, that is yours, and one day, all shall be in the channel of light... as her golden hair, and her trust she watches us with... This moved me so deeply, I can read it over and over, and feel the love... from the sweetest daddy their is. Much love my buddy...

Always,
Elisa
