a different kind of night

a different kind of night

A Poem by joshua deathdealer

"
there is not enough light left
for me to find my way back home

               a different kind of night
thickens, immobilizing me
bringing me face to face
with your abdicated ghost
tuning my deprived ears
to the saddest of songs

                a different kind of silence
that only rakes at the coals
from the perpetual fire that burns
underneath my heart

                the trees here are barren
desolate in their height
they reach out dead limbs
soaking up the air
that remains in a nuclear sky

there is not enough nutrients
left for you and for me

This environment you spoke of, sounds so familiar. I can see it and hear this silence within. I can almost see the black eyes glaring at me from this place. The warmth is gone and the silence is all that remains. A kind of fight to the death as it were.

You look so well into your most deep and inner pains, that this speaks volume,
There is no better way to translate it as you do in poetry.

You never skipped a bit, of your style, and perfection...
I felt in thoughts, through your words, you made me walk through "Tsjernobyl" and
I couldn't breathe, that's how good you are!!!

I like your description of this environment so hostile to life. Kind of how life itself may seem sometimes. Kind of made me dread the future in which mankind has successfully destroyed the planet they need to live. Hope the day doesn't come.
Great write though!
