beside me

beside me

A Poem by joshua deathdealer
"

"
trying to regain ground
I have lain here
longer than I should

soaking up the unfelt warmth
I've let the grass grow up
around and through me

the leaves fall
weighted with rain

covering my lifeless eyes
helping shut the world away

as time drags it's claws
across our frozen scene

decompose, my love
rot beside me

decompose, my love
rot beside me -- great juxtaposition of the hard and the soft in these lines.

A love poem with a touch of the macabre; a great mixture in my book. My work always tends to slant toward the imagery that touches on an underbelly of sorts, so I can relate to the tone of this one quite well. There is a longing here, and an acceptance of the eventual touch of death, but even in death, love remains so long as two souls are connected strongly enough. Well done...look forward to reading more from you.

A new phrase for me. Rotting love. Doesn't sound so sweet. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Depressing, passionate. I like your style, the way you described death. Beautifully written, thanks for sharing. :D

I do suppose we need to spend the muse and invest the thanxgiving in that part which we leave behind...and together like this it seems most appropriate...Laury

forever entwined even after death parts us. A somber write - part romance part macabre we are often fascinated and repulsed at the same time. Love and death two of the most powerful forces in the universe. Well penned

I have read of the story of this picture somewhere but I forgot the details.. I wonder how it feels like for you and your love to die and rot beside each other... Sweet but creepy.. Haha. I really think the last two lines are unintentionally (?) dramatic. Clever write. :x
