teardrops of August

teardrops of August

A Poem by joshua deathdealer
"

"

I ran away from you

                      I put as much distance

as I possibly could so

                      that our love may die

I turned my back to you

showing you that forever is futile

and that giving up is

                      easier than fighting

Hope fell with my spirit

                      before a vast rising of

new and horrific emotions

pushing my anxieties to the limit

Wasted dreams fueled

my quick demise as I have

remained motionless in

exact spot where I left you

I cannot

                       tear myself away

from the

                       memories of your presence

This beautifully captures how though we may try, what we run from nearly always has its way of creeping back into our lives, or igniting a repressed memory.

"showing you that forever is futile" love, love, loved that line. It's perfect.

Wonderful writing, as always!

Beautiful poem. Really enjoyed reading it, love the abstract noun phrase "forever is futile" great fricative alliteration, works really well. Keep up the good work and I also enjoyed the video. :)

It is almost sad the way I can relate to to this poem, no wait, is IS sad, but it's such a beautiful poem that EVERY body can relate. That bites huh? When you put somethng behind you but become so pivotal that you can't tell what is in front or what is in back anymore...whichever way is up or down, in the middle is the only place ya wanna be. yeah.

Sometimes Love is a most unforgiving emotion upon the human heart . . .

Let me rephrase that: Sometimes our Love for others can be most unforgiving and cruel upon our own consciences

many can relate to this for sure..its not "I shalln't tear myself away" but "i cant tear myself away"....vast difference between the two words "shalln't & can't"....you want to get away, but you are never able to ...great lines!
