stare

stare

A Poem by joshua deathdealer
"

07/2012

"
we have already burned
through the nothing

we thought we knew

another day, another way
perhaps I would have followed

but today I will rally
I will give into strength

the demons that hunt me
have tasted bitter light

having only been in my way
now they run from me

the tables have turned
savor the misery

drowning in self reflection
has opened a passage for me

let this seep inside your demented bones
let knowledge slowly drag you back home

I know..

that this is the only way to get through
so stare, stare till your eyes burn out

This is powerful... I feel the strength that you have conveyed in this piece. In a sense it was dark, yet there was light.~

Love the placement/usage of "the" in the second line. Creats a definate something from nothing. "the tables have turned" goes well where it is, but, can't get over the fact of how over-used it is in the everyday.

Dear joshua deathdealer,

My favorite and is going in my library. Reminds me of me, sitting there, crouched on my bed, scared of what would become of me, then suddenly relying on Strength I never knew I had. It's amazing when the moment comes where strength becomes the only choice. It reminds me when I first came into the realization of Christ and understand. It felt just as this poem describes like "the demons that hunt me/have tasted bitter light."

Very interesting and powerful write Thank you for sharing!

Sincerely Livana Lowell (LL)

God bless
