Grins and Flowers

Grins and Flowers

A Poem by Josh Matteo
"

It's been a while, but just got reinspired

"

I apprehensively approach with my tender two lips in hand,

Hoping they won’t break under the pressure against yours.

But the more and more I wait with side-peering eyes,

Stealing what seems more like art than just mere glances,

The less I fear a childlike response to trample the gifted petals.

Though, for now I think I’ll sit back and watch this unfurl.

Because as the tulips widen with every day the sun shines,

Surely there’s no way to crush such a genuine grin.

A very good title. Made me desire to read the poem. I like the use of words and thoughts to create a good vision of the tulips and the grin. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
