Slices

Slices

A Poem by Josh Matteo
"

Wow, that was a long writers block. Sorry. Here's to kick things back up. Hopefully this will get me back in game. Dedicated to my brother. I'm sorry.

"

A knife slips into skin quite smoothly

Especially when the victim is sleeping"

Or sedated in this case.

No resistance is my preference.

Wait ‘till he’s down,

Carve in my words.

Filling the surface of his body with my proverbs and dogmas,

Only the surface.

Because not only are these words cutting his exterior,

But they are also carving away at my interior…

Maybe this is why I feel hollow inside…

Or maybe not.

I will keep slicing.
