Land and SeaA Poem by Joshua J. LoweSome words I vomited at 1am because I couldn't sleep.
A voice like an ocean once said,
"Take care not to break your heart On the rocks beneath my waves; windswept seas have no mind for gentleness." And I stayed clinging to the only Thought in my mind that could Keep me afloat in its waters. There was a time I thought the Quiet within myself could calm The storms within its turbulent Soul. But how can a lion Tame the heart of a star? In reply I offered my heart regardless of the cost. "Move softly through my forests; Strong roots that crack the earth can still burn." It was in that moment I realized, Land and Sea Were set apart for a reason. © 2017 Joshua J. LoweAuthor's Note
