The Mile

The Mile

A Poem by Joseph M. Shea
"

A song from a Father to his child

"

The Mile

Take my hand

My preasuse child

Walk with me

For another mile

We'll talk of things

That youmay do

The furture bright

And so are you

All I have to giveyou

I gave from the first

Life's not bad

It could be worst

Some day you'll miss me

But I'm not really gone

Apart of me in you

From the day you wore born

Let's walk the mile

Let's smile and smile

Let's share the day to come

Take my hand

There no need to run

In your eyes, I'm a hero

In the mirror, Some times a zero

Even at my age

I make misstakes

I don't mean to do

it's some time what it takes

Wetalk of good times

And what we share

We talk of love

To show we care

You drawings hang apon my walls

The picture seem's

To say it all

Let's walk another mile

This is a beautiful poem :) I don't have a kid but I could just imagine what it would be like. I constantly think of what my dad goes through with me and all the sweet memories we have shared.
