Eagles and DovesA Poem by Solitary_StreetsAnother one which was in the first batch of poems I wrote at about 16, after dropping out of high schoolEagles & Doves There are miraculous stars and clouds Connected and performed by heavens above Destroyed by wildfire from the sinful water below From the stars to the heavens To the deepest part of the dark wretched water Where not even the sin of drug rustles We take a journey with no guidelines To the highest star and cloud To where only eagles and dove can pass through We are the moon, covered in clouds Yet to break the horizon My life is in your palms We could sit outside, all our lives Just to see one shooting star Cast on the moonlight Holding a ring on one hand And eternity in the other We are where only eagles and doves Come to rest.© 2014 Solitary_StreetsAuthor's Note
