No MountainA Poem by JoshuaA poem about a believer in the Greek Pantheon arriving in heaven rather than Olympus
It was no mountain.
The grandiose architecture Was nothing more than a gate. Golden, shimmering with light. But where art thou Zeus? Collection of Greek Legends? Where is thine throne? Where art thou brothers and sisters? For all I see is a man. A man! Surely not fit for the greeting of shades And souls. And yet his presence grants me peace. His smile that of solidarity. Mine place was not questioned, Or diminished , By a fool who wields the flashes Of the sky. O’ so be it then! My praise may have been unjustified To those who were birthed from Forked tongue. Though I know nothing of this place, Good sir! I cannot say thine choice to allow Me to mingle with the rays of light Was that of justification. But I wish not to discover The truth behind where The Lord of the Damned Dwells. © 2022 JoshuaAuthor's Note
