Performance PieceA Poem by Joseph KolbA particle of light hot and beaming bounces along with all of its graceful, swan-like movements. I trail along outreached straining to surpass, crying out my sorrows with great zeal. The wax replica of a familiar voice. A pane of water glistening in the star-light hangs delicately above me but no matter how hard I try I can’t stretch myself far enough to break to the other side. I lay under the covers at night on my side, and my knobby, hollowed knees knock against one another. The thick wool like soil dense with wetness weighing down on me, I can’t help but feeling as though I’m turning over in my grave as I go to sleep. © 2017 Joseph Kolb |
