The Hobo In The Elevator

The Hobo In The Elevator

A Poem by Joseph D. Smith
"

A rhyme that would entertain the children, and teach them to be happy about what they have, especially the roof they have over their heads!

"
One day I went to see the hobo that I know,
Who was hangin' in the elevator!

And I asked the hobo that I know,
"What are you doin' in the elevator?"

Then the hobo that I know put my mind to rest
when he said,
"My dear child, I live here!"

I purposefully spelled "hangin'" and "doin'" the way I did, just because that's the way I talk and that's how I prefer to write.

Hello again LLR! Yes, when I wrote this poem I was thinking of a hobo who actually enjoyed being a hobo, but I do realize that there are those that would rather have a home over their heads if they had a choice. I kind of fear that this poem may sound insensitive to some people.

Anyway, thanks again!

Hobos sure do have their ups and DOWNS ... Yes, it's brief entertainment
for the kiddies and definitely could enlighten them about having a place
to hang their hat at home... Thanks for sharing, JDS!
