"undecided"A Poem by jordynself explanatory
The abrupt gong of the father clock
Wakes me to the morn.
Deprived of the suns smiling rays
I get dressed in a solemn form.
A black dress fit to my shape
And glassy pearls of white,
A look for a fun event
If worn another night.
Outside the house cars have aligned
As the processions readies to proceed,
The police escort me to the front
So i may take the lead.
The ride provides me privacy
Like a glass house on the brightest day,
I smile with an unavoidable hope
A stone will not be thrown my way.
Arriving to the main event
With the body in the back,
The church is like a silhouette
Of bodies draped in black,
The choir hums amazing grace
As the glossy oak casket is brought in,
A line forms to see the ceased
And make belated amends.
The American flag is folded taut
As salty mascara streaks line my face,
With kindled hope I still cling
That papa is in a better place.
With last words whispered in privet
Light pink rose heads are placed upon his grave,
I cannot surrender my last goodbye
For its beautiful memory I must save.
