i built my house by the ocean
there i rest in the tallest tree
where the leaves smell like autumn
and everyone sings free
alone i write love songs to my king
the drumming rain plays a melody with the sea
from my window i see your sail
it's far off but the wind carries your voice to me
the birds teach me to fly
i wait in the night for your boat to find me here
it's not that i need you
but its nice to have you near
when the morning rises
i lay my legs over the branches
while my hair dances with the salt of the sea
my hands fall up and the water strokes them softy
sometimes i hear the strings of your guitar
echo over the water
when the sun hides itself at the bottom of the sea
i wait for the moon light to set my eyes free
i plant my mustard seeds in the sand at night
and my trees grow as the sun comes back to life
your sails have grown faint
as the waves take you further away
i feel again my heart start to breath
my face molds into the sand
where i sleep
there is no use in waiting for a sailor
who'd rather be lost at sea
i built my house by the ocean
where i dance with the wind
and sing with the trees
it's here that i live
in the midst of my dreams
