Heart of Circuitry: Act One.

Heart of Circuitry: Act One.

A Poem by Jordan M. DeSurne
"

The following is what I hope to be a science-fiction themed poem, written and uploaded in various installments. The poems will be relatively short, as I don't want to get off on some strange, insane rambling fit and lose what I've got going. Enjoy!

"

Alloy coils, hot as fire,
Fill hollow eyes with lies and falsehood
Fluctuation of artificial dreams,
Rolling waves in a sea of electrons.

Cold, automated fingers,
Shaking, struggling
Reaching for warm, human touch
In a myriad of futuristic fetters.

Reverberating sound waves of struggle bounce about the empty room,
Wired and jointed arms claw on the metal floor tile
Technologic birth, struggling to escape stillborn hibernation
A construct of man,
A reject of God.

Naked, exposed circuitry thrives in the exhilarating, fresh air
Brain waves stimulate a mechanic mind.

surprisingly, i really enjoyed the imagery and arrangement. i found the first line disturbingly cliched. but after that, it just takes off. great job.

"Technologic birth, struggling to escape stillborn hibernation
A construct of man,
A reject of God."

these 2 last lines are powerful in the context of the preceding line.

"Naked, exposed circuitry thrives in the exhilarating, fresh air"

i like the personification of machinery.
