We Are But Prisms

We Are But Prisms

A Poem by jordan2092

Life is like a prism dangling
Above a world of possibility
In darkness it hides
Its crystal interior
Silent is its prowess
But in light
It exudes a radiance
Tinkling with delicate laughter
Splashing color onto the world below
Frenzied with the sun poring through
Its every dimension
Imbibing itself with
A light from a world
Beyond stellar bound
Far but yet close enough
To embrace the sublime melding
Forever shining until the gloaming draws
Closer and closer
To fade silently in natural way
Falling down with the sun but rising with the immortal

What a lovely poem.. the juxposition between night and day, darkness and sunlight is very well done...I love the line "Tinkling with delicate laughter" ..it was unexpected but gives such a wonderful image to the poem. I love how the light is frenzied to get its color through the prism.. to shine in it's multifacetted glory.. I like how you used "gloaming" instead of "darkness" or "shadows".. it gives a sense of forboding that I find very interesting and ties in well with the last 3 lines of the poem. Excellent write, glorious read. Very well done.
