3 Friends & The Old Farmer

The three friends met an old farmer and received strange punishment.

Ajis, Ramli and Sudin travelled around the Peninsula together. One day, they got lost in an unknown village and as it was getting late they needed a place to stay for the night. They saw a wooden kampung house and knocked on the door. 

An old farmer answered the door and the three friends asked if they could stay for the night. The farmer let them sleep at his house but with one condition: no matter what happen they must not peek inside the room at the far corner of the house. 

Thinking nothing of it, the friends went to sleep.

However, the three friends grew curious about the prohibited room and they woke up in the middle of the night to have a peek inside that room. They discovered the farmer's daughter sleeping inside the room and fell instantly in love with her. 

The next day, the three friends told the farmer that they wanted to propose for his daughter's hand in marriage. This angered the farmer since he realized the three friends had peeked inside his daughter's room. 

So the farmer decided to punish them and he told them to go to his orchard and pick one fruit each. 

Ajis returned with a rambutan and the farmer plugged it up Ajis' nose!

Ramli came back with a mangosteen and the farmer did the same thing to Ramli! 

Both friends suddenly started laughing. The farmer was puzzled and asked them why they were laughing when they were supposed to feel hurt. 

They said they saw Sudin picking a durian.

I wrote this based on a funny local story related by my elderly neighbour. The old man had lived through WW II and loves classic P.Ramlee movies.
