The Red Energy

The Red Energy

A Story by Jon Settle
"

This is the way my anger releases itself.

"
My worlds are colliding. My frustration grows with every waking minute. A rage growing ever stronger as the minutes pass.

Destruction. The destructive urge to destroy everything in sight. I want to scream, throw things, make my feelings known!

Control. I need to breath. A walk outside, that's what I need. I could feel it surging within me, my Red Energy.

I'm outside walking to the corn field across the street, when I lose control of the Red Energy. My soul drifted out and hoovered above my body. I watched my body be engulfed in waves of a pure surging energy of absolute anger.

My anger engulfed body ran toward the nearest tree. I saw the Red Energy deepen in color and a split second later the tree splintered; I had punched the tree. A howl resonated from deep within my body as waves of the Red Energy radiated from my body in all directions. The energy was so strong that a crater had formed beneath the feet of my body. The grass just on the outskirts of the crater had also felt the effects of the Red Energy and was withering away.

My body stood there, in the middle of the crater looking up at the moon. It was a full moon tonight.

Peace. A peace had come over the Red Energy and its hold on my body began to fade. I watched as it dispersed away from my body fading into nothingness.

Return. My soul returned to my body.

I was relaxed and free. I wanted to go write, I needed to write. I ran to my room and began to type my story: the story you're reading right now.

Welcome to the fire that demands control.

Good to release anger. Many ways to lose bad thoughts and desire. I use to run miles to release anger and bad energy. I like the description and the positive ending to the story. Thank you for sharing the excellent story.

Thanks
I actually kinda like this, but it doesn't really read like a story...though that's not a bad thing! Its written in a somewhat unconventional manner, which is always a nice thing to see.
Reading about the soul leaving the body was a lovely surreal and profound touch to the story and I'm in love with the weirdness ;)
I wish I could stumble upon more weird/surreal, expressive prose like this ^3^

Anyhoo, well done, sir.
