Checkered Stripe

Checkered Stripe

A Poem by names jon but i prefer jon

Together we could do anything
But the together is the hard part
I have no clue where to start
I just can’t find your checkered stripe

I’m struggling in this race for your heart
Maybe I need to take time to figure you out
I wanna be much more than a friend
And baby I’ll be in this till the bitter end

I always used to feel so lonely
Until I met you, my one and only
I know that I’m not worth your time
But baby know that you’re always worth mine

You’ve got me tired out now
In this competition I’m in
I have no idea where I start
In this race for your heart

Things were never easy for me
And now I’m jammed in the passenger seat
As you take me on the ride of my life
Every step with you is a journey (but I enjoy the drive)

I’m just hoping we don’t run out of gas
But the engine is stalling
The wheels aren’t running
We’re fucked now

I could stare in your eyes for hours
Without speaking a word
And if I did, those four would be
“I love you, baby”
