I never really had you even after we said I do

I never really had you even after we said I do

A Poem by jpshadow
"

A more darker poem then what you think

"
I never really had you
even after we said "I do"

a wall built on memories
of hurtful childhood injuries
you were always trying to please

I never really had you
even after we said "I do"

How do I fill this emptiness
of loving more and loving less
addiction came and took the rest

I never really had you
even after we said "I do"

There is no way to fix someone
the bible says keep lovin on
most just say to move along

cause: I never really had you,
even after we said "I do"

why is there shame in loving you
there is that part I knew was true
I guess no one ever knew

I never really had you
even after I said "I do!"

True, there is no way to fix someone. Some people are so traumatized from childhood that they can't come out of their protective emotional shells.
