Why?

Why?

A Poem by JD Sutter
"

A poem about the death of a friend.

"

Why, God, must it happen this way?
Why couldn't You simply take his pain away?
These questions swirl around my mind
The answers nowhere can I find.

I know that he is in a better place
Yes, with patience he ran the race
His faith was steadfast to the end
Your Word always ready to defend.

A true soldier of the cross
How are we to cope with this loss?
Jesus, I pray, please send your peace
Help this aching in my heart to cease.

Send Your comfort to us, dear Lord
We know he has gone to his reward
Yet the pain we feel is still very real
We give our hearts to You to heal.

For You, O Lord, are here with us
In You we place all our trust
Even though we don't understand
We know that everything is in Your hand.
