Tis Perilous darkness: Tis Merciful Light

Tis Perilous darkness: Tis Merciful Light

A Poem by Andy

I own You!
what and why? Have I become your alibi?
You cast me into loneliness, a tempest of sheer depression,
Did I leave an impression, on coals a-flame- ablaze?
You tried to damn me with your whispers,
In my ear like a poison Jezebel.
Like a candied apple and all it's toxins,
Even snow White must die someday,
Old and grey, never more to be the fairest of them all.
You own me?
The abyss I cannot conquer,
on my own I simply falter,
falling head long as I saunter,
through the path-ways of mediocre,
And my pride it stokes the fire,
Dripping, pulsating perceived desire,
It's my arrogance the beastly liar.
At least there is light within that fire...
Mercy! I beg on judgment day:
That love would wash that devil's stain,
and light would cleanse the inner sanctum,
of the horrors I call bedlam.
I lay awake as a slave, My foot half tangled in the grave...
Night time swallows glittering suns,
Moonlight rives my passions again.
Tell me now my master friend,
Is my freedom just pretend?
Or is my soul a chorus line,
The reverb singing intertwined,
I beseech you Lord, can I be thine?
