my day - a compression poem

written for the "Compression Poem" contest at Albert's Poetry Cafe group. The syllable count: 4-5-6-6-5-4. The rhyme pattern: lines 1,3,6 rhyme / lines 2,4,5 do not.

 sleeping in late

 

biscuits and gravy

 

eggs to poach, cheese to grate

 

bacon sizzles and pops

 

sweet lazy sunday

 

the world can wait

Wow simple direct and just wonderfull. Very clever writing,it really inspires me to try and write a compression poem. Great job man.
