Pretty Pictures Not Drawn Any More

Pretty Pictures Not Drawn Any More

A Poem by Jonathan Bryant Dean
"

Here is a poem that I wrote ater the death of my Friend, and younger Brother: Ronald Emerson Dean. He was an artist, and a genius, and I live to fullfill his memory, if nothing else is possible.

"

Pretty pictures not drawn anymore. funny things that I never hear you say.

Nights that I live through where I never see the sunlight of a happy day.

I don’t get to say the things that I’m thinking,
to you,

So I say them to the sky,

and I hope they get through,

I miss you,

I miss you,

I have many memories,

Good and Bad.

Happy and sad,

Good times and bad

Good times we had…..

and that makes me sad

I miss you more,

Than I ever knew I could.

I say things now,

that I wish I could,

have said to you,

even though I….

did….

tell you…

I got to tell you

that I love you…..

before you went….

I think of all the time I spent…..,

away.

Now I know where my happiness went….,

away.

I’ll always love my little brother,

No matter what anyone can say.

I’ll miss him,

But I’ll live….

To think of him every day.

that's rough man you nailed the lonely night and then when it got to the brother it's the final tear jerker very nice...the only line i have critisim for is it makes me sad maybe it's just one to many of the rhyme scheme but I tihnk the rest of the words convey that so it could have remained unsaid other then that great work

A very touching poem. Very sweet and it made me wonder....is it written for a woman, a child, then....a brother. It cut deeper somehow. Mystery works in this one and if it is true--I am sorry for your loss.

This poem moved me deeply, I felt every word, I too lost my little brother. I could sing these words. Beautiful!

Such a touching and heart felt poem. The emotion and sorrow just shine from the page. A beautiful wrote tribute. XX

Jonathon, this is so touching. I know how it is to miss someone that badly. The love that flows from your heart for your brother is tangible...a beautiful write in every way. If only we could turn back the time sometimes....even just once a year...:-)

Simply beautiful, delicately written yet, deeply heartfelt. Your words flow expertly across the pages and I'm sure with words so masterfully composed your brother heard them in his heart as it flowed from yours.
