Spring Has Arrived

Winter is gone and it's time for Spring, The Vernal Equinox

Today is the day Nature takes a turn,

To bring about the green I so yearn.

Like a canvas, the ground is still blanketed white,

But the flowers are pushing through with all their might.

A portrait being made right before my eyes,

Colorful rays cascading from the skies.

Overnight the world has changed,

Mountains, rocks, the very earth rearranged.

Spring is upon us with Winter now gone,

From the dark cold duckling, a now beautiful Swan.

The wind still howls but the birds now sing,

A sure sign that it’s now Spring.

A new season in full force,

Ripe with tradition following a course.

Enough marveling in this image drew,

For I have Spring Cleaning to do.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of Spring you almost made me change my mind with this poem. It extremely cozy and has a real warm feeling to it which translates very well. I think you have captured the feeling of Spring. As for the last line, well that made me giggle. Nice work!

I love the spring cleaning to do..it's how I feel right now about my heart and soul..time to rid myself of past and bring in the new. The sun, the colors, the fun.. :)

Ha ha, the last line in your last stanza was cute. "For I have Spring Cleaning to do." :P This was a simple piece, but it did capture the re-awakening that spring brings life after the winter's shadow falls over the land.
