Cliché

Cliché

A Poem by That_Guy
"

Full of Cliché yet still so true

"
Roses are red and violets blue,
Full of Clichés I'm writing to you.
There may be plenty of other fish in the sea,
But I'd rather you stay and be with me.

All is fair in love and war,
Well I choose to fight so you see what's in store.
If love is blind why is it so easy for me to see,
That we belong together, just you and me.

I'm unlucky in cards but lucky in love,
Because I have you, sent from Heaven above.
They say opposites attract and if that's true,
How could I be worthy of you.

You're picture perfect, the stuff dreams are made of,
While I have a face only a mother could love.
But every dog has it's day,
And us together is anything but Cliché.

Brilliant play on cliches. And keep up on working on changing "nice guys finish last", will join you on that one.

This is very clever. Love is all the cliches, and never a cliche.

Hah! I like it! Very creative idea you had with this one. It's fun to read, well written, and takes the old, but portrays it in a refreshing way. Well, at least to me. I don't read much poetry.

About
First off I'm 23 years old. I'm a lover and a fighter. I've competed in various martial arts and I consider myself a rather opposing figure. On the outside you see tattoos, muscles and scars but what .. more..
