My Selfish DesireA Poem by That_GuyWhen such a strong feeling isn't shared the damage can be great. It bothers me when you text during movies, And when you don't say goodnight. I give myself to you completely with all my might, But it seems like you're just following the mechanic status quo. Not feeling or treasuring which has me filled with such woe. At times when I am with you I want more than I think I get, Then I'm full of avarice, wallowing as we sit. The time that we spend together I want to be remembered, From the silent moments cheek to cheek sitting on the couch, To the screaming of songs in the car, where when it comes to vocals, neither of us slouch. Won't you see as I see and feel as I feel, So when we aren't apart our time feels more real, Trivial or monumental it doesn't change the fact, That when you fail to show me, by refusing to act, How am I to know you love me as I love you. Now I'm left with that difficult choice as to what I should do, Risk the pain and sit silently knowing you haven't a clue, Or speak up and let my words fall on potential deaf ears, Where loneliness likes to breed and heart ache rears.
