Care Scared of Scars

Care Scared of Scars

A Poem by jonathanjaime

I woke up with a heavy heart today

for reasons you know and for reasons I won't say

mood forming and reforming like clay

and yeah, I woke up with a heavy heart today.

I showered to flush the bad mood

lathered my skin with scents so good

ate my breakfast, though it's wasn't good food

I guess I haven't flushed the bad mood.

I went to work and faked a smile

said jubilant hello's and thoughtful hi's

worked until it was time to say goodbye

looked forward to end faking that smile.

And tonight I think I'm gonna sleep

still with a scar, a bit deep

It's boring to count the sheep

but I think I have to sleep.
