Poems for HerA Poem by Jonathan CadienA poem detailing a breakup I had with a long-term girlfriend.A February Night Alone Her voice still lives in these walls; Whispering around corners. Soft kisses in a picture frame-shattered. The frosted window pane sobs as I look out, Glaring at a pair of foot steps; Leading into the distance where I cannot follow. A Spring Shadow I am imprisoned in the memory of sweet Autumn nights. Cradling you under the new born stars and dying sun; Lost in ecstasy. Lost in remembrance. Your face has begun to fade from my canvas, Yet the regrets remain vitally indelible, Mocking me in silence.
“Tender Age In Bloom” Scar tissue is all that is left; A vague sign of experience. My eyes have moved past the piercing eyes of your portrait, Out into the limitless world which trembles with anticipation. I have found the golden embers of the sun and am striving towards them. Even love, it seems, will fade. © 2014 Jonathan Cadien |
