Waking up to a slow tap of rain on the windows, Evan enters the kitchen for some coffee.
After slipping a filter into the slot, adding some water to the back of the coffee maker and waiting patiently for a few minutes, Evan makes his way over to the window to watch the rain shatter against the glass.
It was Saturday, no need to worry about work, or anything else for that matter.
The phone rang.
He rushed over to the table to pick it up.
Caller ID read: Davens, Sara
"Hey Evan, you coming to Alyssa's place tonight?"
"Hey, um, well I was thinking about it why?
"Well I'm going and I was just wondering."
"Ok well I might see you tonight then."
"Ok, see ya, bye."
Placing the phone down Evan makes a decision to go. He hadn't seen any of his friends in a while; work was keeping him down. He worked as a computer specialist, so as you can imagine he was constantly wanted to fix something at some far corner of this world full of "Idiots guide to.." readers.
After showering and cleaning his kitchen-which if one entered would have thought a hurricane swept through it-after a third world war was fought in it that is- He grabbed his over coat from the railing, and made a mental note to remember to bring the umbrella in so he could actually use it, instead of it sitting in his car, waiting to come out of the plastic its shippers wrapped it in.
He dashes through the rain to his car. Hurries inside it, but right before he turns on the car he catches a glimpse of a figure that appeared to be playing an instrument in the field beside him. It looked like a female..But she was getting drenched.
He opened the car door, to go and confront her..but as soon as he stepped outside again..she was gone.
Sitting at a table with Sara Davens, he couldn't get his mind off of the girl he had seen earlier.
, it was like she was a ghost, but after being accused of being crazy he put the idea out of his mind.
The night was long and when he got back the musician was the last thing on his mind; his bed the first.
The next day the sun had shown through the windows like a lighting storm. It was Sunday, and to tell you the truth Evan really wasn't that religious of a man, now don't get me wrong he believed in god and all...He just dint understand reading the bible every day or going to church. But today was a different story, he felt like going somewhere and considering it was Sunday he decided to go to the church a little ways down the road, it was a small church but he enjoyed visiting it from time to time, and it was especially pristine for photography, which Mr. Evans liked to consider his hobby.
After a long drawn out shower and a cup of coffee, he made his way to the church, noting the fact that he had forgotten something about last night, and it bothered him like a fly; he recalled being puzzled and thinking a lot about it..but for the life of him he couldn't remember what it was. Brain storming the whole way to church, he almost missed the turn, but once properly parked, he put it from his mind.
The church was rather full that morning and he had trouble finding a place to sit. But eventually he found a chair by an old couple who he guessed had hearing problems. He sat there listening to the preachers' serman. And then it happened, he saw a young female about a few years younger than himself sitting not twenty feet to his right. He dint know her, or at least he didn't think he did, she just reminded him of something like he thought he had seen her before. And then it hit him as the whole church was praying all on there knees, she was the girl in the field, the musician, playing in the rain the night before.
After church he shook hands with the pastor and went to try and find her, not that he knew what he was going to say, but just the satisfaction of seeing her again.
