Cry Here

Cry Here

A Poem by Jonathan Bodnar

Cry here,
Here upon my shoulder
Release your pain to the heavens
Forget what they told you
Destroy their memories
dream only what succeeds to hold you
Kill this intension of forgiveness
Forget tranquil silences
Forget the roses he gave you
Let the rain cover you now
Let its truth devour your emotions
Throw away the hopelessly memories of an unbecoming past
This is all over
Time is no longer relevant to us
Tears our the only cure to this pain
Trace your steps no more
I am here
Here for you
Never to deny
Never to run
So cry
Cry upon my shoulder
As I cry upon yours....

What a beautiful dedication. Well written, and easy to feel. How such a thing of beauty like the rain invokes such sadness in all who watch it alone I will never quite comprehend. But that is a part of its beauty, that mystery it holds. I'm glad you entered this in my contest. I like your work.

I am weary to review this poem because I am the dedicatee. I thank you very much for the honor of having a poem written just for me. :) But i shall try my best to review this as any other.

As I have told you before, and this may just be the grammar Nazi in me, but i think that 'our' is supposed to 'are'. I like the imagery of you offering your shoulder to cry on, no matter what. It is a very personal and touching poem. And as amazing as your work is, a little variety, i think, is needed within your verbs, adjectives, and subjects. Brainstorm party? :)
