A Winter Romance

A Winter Romance

A Poem by FutureMrsJonas

“I want a winter romance”

weird looks in just one glance

today's society consists of sheeple

what is up with the world's people?

There is so much mores

coffees, soups, gooey smores

a Valentine that is actually yours

it's time to forget them witchy bores

stomp and trompe in the snow

then back inside for a hot cup of cocoa

after we snuggle up beside the fire's glow

it's time to turn the lights down low

a time for warm hats and mitts

woolly socks and fuzzy knits

cosy together, armed

against the freezing weather

a time for winter fest

wild passion and zest

wrap up warm for bitter cold

contrasting, matching, colours bold

and as the flakes sprinkle

I see his bright eyes twinkle

my tummy begins to flutter

we lean in for a kiss, mutter an utter

hearts, chocolates and love

Christmas crackers, a celestial dove

cosy and snug like a glove,

November fireworks crackle above

a park walk down the line

hands hold, fingers entwine

course, raspy, warm but mine

we kick leaves, our eyes shine

a summer romance is fleeting, yet

a winter love is much more keeping

it's cold out so we eat in

and later, we be tweeting

midwinter love best in it's prime

much like mistletoe and thyme

and although it took me some time

at least I made this poem rhyme

I agree that winter is the best season for romance. So cozy and warm, full of sweaters and scarves and snuggling.
