Before I go

A poem I wrote

Before I go,

Do not dwell on what has come,

And what has past.

They are one in the same,

And in the eyes of the universe,

They do not matter.

Just know that life will go on,

And in the depths of a fire,

There is a seed that will grow,

And what grows will be left to you.

Alas, I wish I could see it,

But the universe has other plans for me.

So instead I will dream of it.

I shall dream of a hope that lives in you.

So that I may rest in peace,

Like the earth and the summer beneath
