The beauty inside

I was asked to write a poem and read it for the celebration day of an "inner makeover" class I attended for several weeks. We spent the time evaluating our self, and it was a great experience.

It takes a lot to respect others,

But more importantly to respect yourself.

Each take time, to develop true beauty inside.

Inner beauty could never compare

To the ruby red lipstick the "hot chicks" wear.

To see beyond a Covergirl mask,

Seems to some people, an impossible task.

But when the impossible has been reached, 

And the most fearful deeds have been seized,

Confidence and bravery will be with you for long to last.

When knowledge has been gained,

And you carry no hurt or shame

The more you will feel holy, 

And the more you will feel free.

When the point has been reached,

In which you are fully clean,

No one in this world will bring you down.

Because your self image has been remade

Into a beautiful and respectful lady...

...Inside and Out.

Great message. Now, this one really is a poem and as such it deserves all the pink and polish. Consider this line, "Confidence and bravery will be with you for long to last." I know what you mean as will most readers but to say it out loud leaves me tongue-tied and brain-twisted. How about, "Confidence and bravery will with you be everlasting." ...or something like that. Just a thought. Great job! :)

So many people have that beauty inside and outside , but sometimes they don't show that because they have to be like the others if they want to survive outside the house

Yeah, unfortunately. I agree with you there, but shouldn't we just be free to be ourselves? Who cares if people think you're different, I know it's scary to accept but it's even scarier to be a fake just to blend. Life is just crazyy
