A tear I cried for you

A tear I cried for you

A Poem by Jolie Blossom
"

Love can be so amazing, but also so tragic.

"
A tear I cried for you today
Took me back in time
That tear that fell so solemnly
Brought me to this rhyme
As it fell upon my cheek
I recognized its form
One that has occurred frequently
One that's been well worn
This tear I singled out to you
Reminds me of the past
Failed attempts of our relationship
Contemplating why it couldn't last
It stained my memory
And I hide behind a lie
That tear for you streams down my cheek
Reminding me of our goodbye
It seems that if I hide it
It sneaks back upon my cheek
Pouring down the painful times
I felt confident in you I'd seek
And when I wipe the tear away
You seem to disappear
But only for the moment
Do you seem so far from here
My solution bares no answer
And I cannot change your mind
So for now I will keep this tear
Until this pain itself subsides
This tear I cried for you today
Is the last one for your name
I whisper strongly to myself
"I can't handle all the blame."

Love those last four lines...Something we can relate to, and so beautiful!

Another great poem... I keep thinking of the transformation between cocoon and butterfly; as in poem to song. You must compose these with your guitar in your hand.

maybe lol
This is such a prevailing piece, it speaks of lose, humility, blame, unanswered questions. There are so many raw emotions wrapped up into your words, it as if you are stripping yourself bare and letting it all pour out. I get the sense that when you talk about the tear that fell so solemnly - this is a reoccurring pattern. Going into the next lines -
"As it splashed upon my cheek
I recognized its form
One that has occurred frequently
One that's been well worn"
This is such a heartbreaking tale - you are right when you say love can be amazing, but it can be so tragic as well. I think that many of us can relate to this on many different levels and you have very clearly expressed your emotions throughout the piece.
If only we could experience the amazing part of love - and leave this part behind, but how would we learn? And then what would we write about?
Thank you for sharing this heartfelt piece.
