Lullaby

A lullaby sings me to sleep

A memory I struggle to keep

his breath upon my cheek

it was so sweet

footsteps on the floor

i won't see him anymore

the blue in the sky

it makes me want to cry

his arms so tight around me

he had held the key

to my heart

but he broke me

when he left through the open door

now my heart feels like an unhealing sore

but he is a memory I struggle to keep

while a lullaby sings me to sleep
