Lilies

this is a poem dedicated to the relationship between my mother and myself

Two lilies intertwined

tangled together in the bayou

so alike, surrviving in the gusts

one cannot be without the other

one has stopped growing, she is done

the other shoots up, passing the other by

continually bloosoming, both still under the cypress tree

strong winds blow one away

she has to go, she cannot stay

they say goodbye

but their hearts reamin intertwined

memories together, always love
