Beyond This World

Beyond This World

A Poem by Jordyn Lee
"

a world i saw in a dream...

"
She danced across the ocean water
the sun following behind
laughing with our sons and daughters
looking for more balloons to find
Giggling, laughing, soaring through the sky
a land of color coated sweets below
a land in which elephants could fly
and where you could shrink or grow
Aging a hundred years a second
but still staying the same
diving into the ocean, as they beckoned
playing the little fishies game
Where anything can happen, and anything will
flying, dying, and coming back alive
endless fun, endless everything, until
when it all disappears, and your back in your hive
As you jump from your marshmallow sheets
don't you fret, my child
In this land, whom did you meet?
And like a 5 year old, we're twirling away, wild

Haha, this brought me back to the original Peter Pan, fresh ideas that force us to consider flying elephants and what not. I loved it. Its absolutely brilliant, and it is the kind of world I see myself living in 5 years from now. ;)

Thanks!

It's not lame, it's very upbeat and has a almost Alice in Wonderland feel. :)

Very relatable poem, universally appealing to everyone. The strict rhyme scheme encourages one to read in a nursery rhyme fashion, which fuels and underlined innocense. A unique wonder, thanks for the read.

Lame? I beg to differ, beautiful fits much better than lame. :) Your imagery and whimsical quality in this poem was superb, making for a light-hearted read. I greatly enjoyed this.
