Seeking for Comfort

Seeking for Comfort

A Poem by jojoegummy

At the lobby, we often meet

With him, he’d ask me to eat

Then together, we’ll go out

A lot of things, we talk about

One time, we were talking

And said he’s leaving

I laughed and said that’s silly

Then said he’s talking seriously

This is something I can’t believe

Why do people around me leave?

Of mine, he’s a close friend

Guess friendship’s ‘bout to end

I am currently typing

And I heard them talking

I’ve heard them say she’s gone

Said her suffering is done

She had been very nice

And I miss her usual hi’s

More than a landlady, she is

A woman of faith, that is

Now I ask myself, why?

I know we’ll all die

We’re not afraid of death but pain

Then our loved ones get insane

At times like this, I need someone

Please, Will you be the one?

Only this time please

With you, I’d be at ease
